David earned a B.A. from the University of Utah and a J.D. from Brigham Young University Law School. He is a member of the Utah and Idaho Bar. David belongs to the Utah Bar Estate Planning Section, Corporate Counsel, Business Law, and Securities Sections, and the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council. He has served on boards of charitable organizations and enjoys giving back to the community.

With his wife, he lives in Sandy, Utah, and has four very good-looking and fairly intelligent children, one brilliant son-in-law and one adorable daughter-in-law.
